Chili Rules and Info

Thanks for being a participant in Jeffersonville Main Street Inc.’s 7th annual chili & beer tasting event and silent auction fundraiser on Thursday, February 16, 2012. The event is from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm at Kye’s II, located at 500 Missouri Avenue, Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Listed below are some specifics for the event:

  • Serving trays (heated by sterno) will be provided for you to place your chili in when you arrive at Kye’s II. However, please bring your chili WARM to the event because the serving trays will not have enough heat in them to warm up cold chili before the event begins.
  • Please bring enough chili for 250 tastings. This should be equivalent to about two to three crock pots of chili.
  • Cups, bowls napkins and spoons will be provided. You will be giving out a 2oz. tasting of your chili.
  • Doors open for set up at 2:00 pm. Set up must be completed by 4:30 pm.
  • Judging will begin at 4:45 pm. The event opens to the public at 5:30 pm.
  • You will be provided a table and tablecloth. Please let us know in advance if you will need access to electricity. (You may need to bring an extension cord.)
  • Please make sure you have someone to work your table at all times. Event runs 5:30 pm-8:30 pm.
  • Prizes will be awarded in Professional & Novice Divisions (3 in each) and One People’s Choice.
  • You get two free admissions to the event. There will be a list at the door with your name +1 admission. If you need more than these two complimentary tickets, additional tickets are $15.00 each (a $5 discount from general admission).
  • If possible, bring a small sign or banner for your table/area that identifies your organization.
