Jeffersonville Main Street hosts the Chocolate Lovers Stroll to encourage exploration of small businesses in Historic Downtown Jeffersonville!
Calling all chocolate lovers! The annual Chocolate Lovers Stroll returns to historic Downtown Jeffersonville, Indiana on Saturday, April 27. The event is hosted by Jeffersonville Main Street to showcase the small businesses in Downtown Jeffersonville and the ongoing revitalization of the downtown district.
At the Chocolate Lovers Stroll participants will get chocolate tastings within participating locally-owned shops and restaurants, live music acts will be playing along the sidewalks, a trolley will be offering free tours of the historic district, and participating businesses will feature specials and sales.
“We want people to explore wonderful Downtown Jeffersonville’s shops and restaurants, and the Chocolate Lovers Stroll gives people a sweet reason to do that,” said Jay Ellis, Executive Director of Jeffersonville Main Street, the city’s nonprofit downtown revitalization organization. “The revitalization of Downtown Jeffersonville has positioned the district as a place that nurtures the entrepreneurial spirit, and we hope people will get better acquainted with our small businesses at events like these.”
On the day of the event, ticket-buyers will first visit the registration area at the Jeffersonville Main Street office at 401 Pearl Street, where they will pick up their event passport guiding them to participating shops, as well as a box of chocolates specially created for this event by Schimpff’s Confectionery. The event takes place within a five-block area of downtown and is made possible through the support of the Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Association, Schimpff’s Confectionery, the City of Jeffersonville, the small businesses of Downtown Jeffersonville, and the volunteers and staff of Jeffersonville Main Street.
Only 400 tickets are available for purchase. Tickets are $12 and available online at www.JeffMainStreet.org and at Schimpff’s Confectionery, 347 Spring Street, Downtown Jeffersonville. Note: Online purchases have a processing fee. Online ticket-purchasers should present their receipt (on their phone or printed) at the registration table at 401 Pearl Street on the day of the event.
